Brief us
A written brief or a 30-minute conversation is enough. We confirm what the prototype will cover, agree a timeframe, and check that we are the right fit for the problem.
We build the prototype and MVP
Working software, not slides: the core workflows, screens and data model, built by the same engineers who would deliver the full product. You use it, test it and give feedback.
You decide
If it is the product you imagined — or already useful — we scope, quote and build the production version on top of it. If not, you walk away owing nothing.
What the free prototype and MVP include
- A working prototype of the core user workflows (typically three to five)
- A functional interface showing the key screens and interactions
- A first data model and the essential business logic
- One round of feedback and refinement
- A written architecture recommendation and estimate for the full build
What sits in the paid production build
- Production hosting, security hardening and scale testing
- Integrations with third-party or legacy systems (unless they are the product)
- A finished design system, branding or polished UI
- Ongoing changes beyond the agreed feedback round
Why we can offer this
We are confident in our discovery process and our engineering. Almost everything built in the prototype is reused in the production build, so little is wasted — and we only win when you choose to continue. That only happens if the prototype earns it.

Who is the free prototype for?+
Businesses and founders with a defined software or SaaS need, a genuine intention to build if the prototype proves itself, and someone with authority to make that decision. We confirm fit in the first conversation.
Is there really no cost or obligation?+
Correct. The prototype and MVP are built at our cost. You are under no obligation to proceed, and there are no fees if you decide we are not the right fit.
Who owns the code and the idea?+
Your idea, requirements and data are always yours. The prototype code remains YS Infomatics property until an engagement is agreed; once you proceed, the code and IP transfer to you as part of the build contract.
How long does it take?+
Depends on scope — we agree a timeframe up front before starting, typically a few weeks for a prototype and MVP of the core workflows. One round of feedback is included.
What happens if I say no?+
Nothing. We part ways professionally. You have a much clearer picture of your requirements and how the product could work, at no cost.
What happens if I say yes?+
We scope the production build with you, provide a fixed price or sprint estimate, and formalise the engagement. The prototype becomes the foundation, so you are not starting again.
